As a fundamental descriptor, I subscribe to the premodern, pseudo classical description of “visual art” as being one of the humanities and therefore requiring the application of a discipline. Without the discipline, there’s no “art”; without the application of discipline, it’s just one’s personal expression, nothing more.

Yeah, enough deep thought. I have survived much longer than I thought I might, and in doing so, after listening to scores of folks tell me “you’re an artist” as well as “your life is interesting,” I figured I might put a few words down to document it, just in case it might be so.”
